8th Anniversary of the US Invasion of Iraq

  • March and Rally in Support of SF Hotel Workers
  • Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 12noon
  • United Nations Plaza, Market and 7th Streets, SF

While the United States will spend $1 trillion++ for war and occupation in 2011, there are 30 million people in the US who will remain unemployed or severely underemployed.  Cuts in education, housing, and healthcare are imposing a huge toll on the people.

Now, new rounds of cutbacks in vital services and jobs are underway at the federal, state, and local level. Public and private sector unions are under attack.

12,000 SF workers, members of UNITE HERE Local 2 have been fighting since August 2009 for a new contract that protects their healthcare, wages, and working conditions.

On March 19, we will rally against the wars, march to boycotted hotels, and end the march with picket lines at one of the boycotted hotels in solidarity with Local 2 workers.

STOP THE WAR ON WORKING PEOPLE!
Fund jobs, health care, and education, NOT war!
End war and occupation!
Solidarity with Peoples’ Movements!
